Conor MacGuinness
Global Head of Onboarding and Relationship Management
Conor MacGuinness is Global Head of Onboarding and Relationship Management at Waystone Management Company (IE) Limited. He brings to this role his well-rounded and multi-jurisdictional experience in fund administration, with particular emphasis on alternative investment structures, which he gained in Ireland, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
At Waystone, Conor is responsible for relationship management where he works closely with Waystone’s global operational teams, including European offices, the Cayman Islands and within the APAC region to ensure that funds receive the resources and the guidance they need to operate effectively within their locations. Conor leads a team of professionals to conduct the client onboarding process in order to achieve an efficient fund set-up and oversees the legal and operational framework, to ensure that funds are ready to operate effectively within their chosen jurisdiction. Conor also has overall responsibility for ongoing client relationship management to support the smooth running of each fund, including managing relationships with the network of service providers and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Prior to joining Waystone, Conor was Vice President and Manager of the Client Services Team for BNY Mellon, Alternative Investment Services from 2005 to 2013. In this role, he was responsible for managing a team of client service professionals to provide premium service delivery and support fund administration and banking services for a range of alternative asset manager clients (hedge fund, FOHF and private equity) worth approximately $100 billion AUA and covering Ireland, Luxembourg, Hong Kong and Tokyo offices.
From 1999 to 2004, Conor served as Team Leader, Operations (Dublin) for Man Investments, a leading provider of alternative investment solutions to private and institutional clients worldwide.
Conor holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business in Ireland and a Certificate in Investment Management from the Society of Investment Analysts (Ireland). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance from Dublin City University.
