Brian Whelan joined Waystone in 2022 and is based in Waystone’s Dublin headquarters.
A subject matter expert on loan administration services, Brian works within the Corporate Services Team and has full oversight, leading the Loan Administration Team. Within this role, Brian manages a client portfolio of securitisation and aviation transactions, liaising with both clients and other key stakeholders to oversee the transactions to ensure they meet the necessary requirements. Brian provides advice and guidance to in-house and external legal advisors and attends board meetings for the client portfolio. In addition, Brian onboards new client portfolios in line with Waystone’s policies, including new business approval and AML/KYC checks.
Prior to joining Waystone, Brian worked for U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services in Dublin where he was responsible for the accurate set up and maintenance of a system of records for a portfolio of deals. Additional responsibilities included principal payments, PIKs, interest, fees and rate sets. Brian was also responsible for maintaining accurate trackers for SWAPs, ensuring all relevant funds were received and paid out by the appropriate deadlines.
Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
