Tom has worked in financial services since 2006.
At Waystone, Tom is a Director – Compliance, following its acquisition of KB Associates where he served as Head of Compliance for the KB Associates Fund Management Company. Tom is an accredited Compliance and Financial Crime Prevention professional with particular expertise in developing compliance frameworks to satisfy regulatory requirements in Ireland, Luxembourg and the Cayman Islands.
Before joining KB Associates, Tom was Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for HedgeServ Limited, an independent fund administrator. Tom was responsible for leading the Compliance team and coordinating the Compliance agenda, engaging with regulators and reporting to the Board. Prior to his role at HedgeServ, Tom was with EY as a regulatory consultant where he worked on client regulatory projects for global financial institutions in Dublin and London.
Tom has a BA in History and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin and an Executive MBA from Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School at University College Dublin (UCD). He has a Diploma in Finance Law from the Law Society of Ireland, a Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention from the International Compliance Association, and an MSc in Compliance from UCD. Tom is a fellow of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland (ACOI) and chairs the ACOI Data Protection & Information Security Working Group. Tom is a member of the ACOI MLRO Forum and the Irish Funds AML Working Group.
