      Brian Coughlan is a senior operations and fund services professional with over 25 years of experience gained at leading banking and securities services organisations. Brian’s expertise spans the leadership of fund services and global custody teams, strategic program management, client engagement and process improvement, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

      At Waystone, Brian is responsible for streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency with regards to the onboarding of clients in order to deliver an exceptional client experience. Brian plays a pivotal role in championing a process-oriented approach, driving technology enablement whilst ensuring a robust control environment is in place, within a global aligned client onboarding team.

      Prior to joining Waystone, Brian held the role of Head of Custody at HSBC in Dublin, where he oversaw the Custody client service teams across Ireland, Guernsey and Luxembourg including oversight of the Securities Services Operations. His focus was on process improvement, oversight and governance, and he worked closely with the global leadership team to provide an excellent service offering to institutional and asset manager clients. In addition, Brian has successfully delivered strategic programmes of change including location strategy, client digital adoption and process optimisation.

      Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Politics and a Diploma in Business Studies, both from University College Dublin.
